Joyce Ann Adams, 78 years old, passed away at LakeSide Nursing Home in Lake City, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. (Dub) Adams; her parents, George Chamness and Wanda Turner, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and one sister, Vickie Lynn Chamness of Orlando, Florida.
She is survived by three daughters, all of Jonesboro, Arkansas: Terrie Higgins Houston (Danny Hurt), Joyce Angela (Angie) Boling (Eric Boling), and Connie Johnson (Jim Johnson); 2 sisters, Janet (Gary) Yates of Orlando, Florida, and Jackie (Kent) Barnes of Guin, Alabama.
8 Grandchildren: Cody (Chelsea) Higgins of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Jesse (Ceslee Kidd) Higgins of Jonesboro; Tera (Tyler) Tully of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; Benjamin (Christina) Bryant of Jonesboro; Matthew Johnson (Molly) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Dillon (Karalee) Johnson of Bay, Arkansas; Cali Barnes of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Magan Houston of Trumann, Arkansas.
14 Great Grandchildren: Bria Stanberry, Hallie Bryant, Lexi Hamlet, Wesley Bryant, Rawlins Bryant, Lynleigh Tully, Drake Tully, Sutton Johnson, Arden Johnson, Abel Johnson, Rylee Johnson, Madilyn Johnson, Fulton Houston, Briggs Barnes, Addilynn Hankins, Jared Cole, and Rafe Higgins.
Joyce worked as a cosmetologist for 40 plus years. Most of those were at the Guys and Dolls Salon of Jonesboro, Arkansas, which she owned.
Until she retired, she loved reading, crafts, movies, and dancing until she no longer could because of a long illness of Alzheimer's.
She was raised in the Catholic faith, then joined the General Baptist faith with her husband, Dub, who was Pastor of First General Baptist in Jonesboro, Arkansas, until his death in 2005.
Her family is heartbroken but have peace that she's no longer suffering and that she's now back with her husband in heaven with their Lord and Savior.
The family and friends will have a memorial/celebration of life at a later time.
