Garrett Michael Earl Dougan, 35, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Born on November 29, 1990, in Berrien Center, Michigan, Garrett was the son of Michael Dougan and Patti Kirby. He was someone who found joy in life's simple moments and treasured the time he spent with those he loved.

Of all the roles Garrett held in life, being a father to his daughter, Emma, was the one he cherished most. Whether they were curled up watching movies together, laughing, or simply enjoying each other's company, those moments meant everything to him. The love he had for Emma was evident to everyone who knew him.

Garrett enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, diving into the Star Wars universe, and building LEGO sets. He had a patient, thoughtful nature and appreciated the little things that brought happiness to everyday life.

He dedicated himself to caring for others through his work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bell Meade in Paragould. His compassion and willingness to help made a lasting impact on the residents he cared for and the coworkers who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Dougan. He is survived by his daughter, Emma Dougan; his mother, Patti Kirby; his brother, Taylor Fergison; his sister, Nicole Fergison; and many other family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Garrett's life on Thursday at Hathcoat Funeral Services. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Jamey Carter. Interment will follow at Pinelog Cemetery.

Although Garrett's life ended far too soon, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with those who knew him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his quiet spirit, and the love he had for his family—especially his daughter, Emma.
